Description & Intention 

Training Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to describe physical, emotional, cognitive, behavioral responses following perinatal loss and traumatic grief.
  • Participants will understand the specificities of traumatic grief.
  • Participants will understand personal and societal issues that may impact the grieving process for individuals.
  • Participants will identify specific interventions to support and meet the needs of mothers and their partners following perinatal loss.
  • Participants will differentiate between helpful and non-helpful provider responses.
  • Participants will learn appropriate support techniques in acute and postpartum grief.
